SHEA Gas

Safety, Health and Environmental Awareness (SHEA) offers a consistent standard for Training in these practices throughout the utilities Industry and aligns with the expectations set by the Health and Safety Executive.

Overview of the Scheme

Utility Safety Systems provides a SHEA Gas one day course for temporary and permanent workers of gas operational sites, inclusive of operatives, supervisors and managers.
The course content is practical and relevant with an aim to boost workforce safety and minimise incidents and associated costs.

Modules

SHEA Gas consists of the following 9 modules:

Module 1: Understanding our workplace responsibilities
Module 2: Understanding the effects of our work on the environment
Module 3: Identifying and controlling risks
Module 4: Common hazards and controls in the workplace
Module 5: Occupational health hazards
Module 6: Responding to emergencies
Module 14: Highway working and excavations (Gas)
Module 15: Pressure regulating installations
Module 16: Safety in premises

Delivery

For the initial SHEA Gas EUSR registration, there are two options:

Duration

The course assessment is a variety of multiple choice questions based on each module.
In both classroom and online training assessments are supervised to ensure fairness and to prevent malpractice such as impersonation or collusion.
All nine modules must be successfully completed for certification.

EUSR Renewal

There are two options available for SHEA Gas Renewal

EUSR Registration

Successful completion of the course will result in EUSR Registration which is valid for 5 years.

CSCS Partnership

The EUSR ID Card includes the CSCS Logo which allows access to CSCS- regulated sites for utilities work
